New Year and new WanGuard 8.3 has now been AMD certified. Read more on new features and development.

WanGuard 8.3 features :

  • Flow Sensor detects attacks faster in some cases, and it uses multiple threads to compress the raw flow data.
Now it also supports ZSTD, a modern compression algorithm that offers a higher compression ratio at a lower CPU consumption.
ZSTD and LZ4 can be configured with custom compression levels
  • A new sub-tab called Geo Distribution, located in Reports » Tools » Firewall and in Filter tabs, that shows the distribution of attackers over an interactive world map
  • Hardware Offload support for filtering packets on Mellanox 5/6 NICs when using DPDK. Packet and byte counters are also supported for offloaded rules
  • Support for capturing packet dumps when using DPDK. Due to limitations in the DPDK library, simultaneous captures are not possible, so subsequent captures are queued for up to 5 minutes
  • Console Theme "Classic Flat" was removed; icon set "Modern" is now default for Modern themes
  • A new decoder for the SLP protocol
  • Support for Debian 12
  • Support for PHP 8.2
  • Support for PF_RING 8.6
  • Support for DPDK 23.11
